Project Title
Bosses Bossaball Team
Type
Motion Graphics / Class Project
Date
Spring 2025
Overview
Bosses is a fictional bossaball team based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Bossaball is a high-energy team sport that combines elements of volleyball, soccer, gymnastics, and capoeira, played on a large inflatable court with a central net and trampolines on each side.
I created a motion graphics advertisement to capture the energy and rhythm of the sport while clearly introducing its unique structure. The animation highlights the inflatable court and trampoline elements to showcase how gameplay is driven by movement, elevation, and performance.
The visual system is designed to feel active and kinetic. The wordmark was animated so that each letter mimics the motion of bouncing on a trampoline, creating a sense of lift and rhythm as it moves across the screen. This approach reinforces the core mechanics of bossaball while adding personality to the team identity.
The ad uses bold color, dynamic motion, and upbeat audio inspired by Brazilian music to reflect the cultural energy of the sport. A range of transitions between scenes was intentionally used to represent different types of movement, from quick cuts to more fluid shifts, helping guide the viewer while maintaining a strong sense of momentum. Designed for a three-screen format, the piece creates an immersive viewing experience that amplifies the intensity and excitement of the game while connecting it to music, dance, and volley.
